I ask this because I recently purchased a dice and when the knife is open or closed I can here a slight clicking or rattling when I shake it side to side in the pivot area. I know some other companies use floating stop pins so they last longer when flipping them so if anybody knows id appreciate it cause I dont wanna send into spyderco if i dont have to. Thanks again.

If it's a floating stop pin rattling when the knife is open then there's a bigger issue.
I'm not positive on that model but on some I've had the lanyard tube rattle.

One thing I've noticed on my dice is that the pivot pin is slightly undersized compared to the hole in the blade it fits through, possibly because of the flat side that is used to key it into the scale.

I've also noticed some minor rattling and I think it's because of this.

floating stop-pin on most, but not all spyderco,s have them, some rattle a bit and others don't! no problems though...

Foating stop pins usually are fastened within the liners with no fasteners to secure them. I'm going to go with a no, for most of the older models. There is so much new stuff coming out lately that each model is a drastic change from one to another. I might be wrong and a few exceptions exist. The best example of a true floating stop pin are on Emerson knives.

The Dice, among most of Spyderco's Taichung models has a floating stop pin, if by floating stop pin we mean one that's not held in place with two screws (a la the Military).

I know for sure that the Dice, Domino, GB, Southard, Techno, and Slyzsz Bowie for sure use the floating stop pin. It's quite common in many of Spyderco's models.

As long as it only rattles when it's closed your good, look at you mini cqc15... Call me if anything.
