Does stop pin size matter???

Today i took alook at some emerson ravens and a cqc6 by ernest emerson, and noticed the stop pins were all so small, they were half the size of my afck, should this be a big concern. Personally, i think they would bend if you lightly hacked with the knives, i know folders aren't choppers, but i always test my folders for their light chopping ability.
 
I checked with the girls in the office and they say size always matters.

Probably an an off answer for this thread with dual meanings, but size doesn't matter as much as hardness. (sorry).
