As the tile asked I am curious how stripping and polishing a Busse knife effects it value?

Busses are collectibles because of their business model--create something for production, then never offer it again. Like most collectibles, the farther they are away from their original conditions, the lower their prices will go. But the price is also subject to a bunch of stuff, though, like age, value to the buyer, rarity, so on. But I can't think of a time when someone would sell or buy a mint Busse for less than a stripped and polished one, unless maybe it was stripped and polished by someone like Ban, who did some pretty epic mods and has since stopped doing Busse mods.

Collector value will always be effected based off of condition regardless of age or rarity. The better or more original the condition the knife is in the more it is sure to bring regardless of any other factor. The difference from original purchase price to what you can expect to pay in the secondary market is what is most effected by age, rarity, condition, and popularity.

What I mean is "Yes", regardless of any other factor it will effect the collector value.

If it was a lower cost knife to begin with it will add to the price, it depends on the quality of the polish job.
