Does stripping your rat Void the warranty

So does stripping your rat void the warranty also is you have pics of stripped rats that would be cool:D
 
I don't think so, the coating is tough, but it kinda happens overtime anyways.
 
Lupawolf just posted a thread up in the forum of a very professionally done, bead-bladed RC blade. Here is my RC-4 stripped. To tell the truth, I kinda wish I didn't strip it as the knife is pretty much completely maintenance free with the coating. I did leave the coating on the tang so I wouldn't have to worry about rust under the covers. I will say that the blade is finished rather nicely underneath that coating. Not many manufacturers can make that claim.

If I recall correctly, Jeff recommended not stripping the knives due to the micarta's tendency to retain moisture causing the tang to rust.

While it doesn't void the warranty, it's not recommended.
 
shotgunner--you are right...warranty is still good. I think Jeff said something like he expects us to be fair, but if we contact them for warranty work, they will get it done. No problem.
