I want to know what you think. I just visited their website after looking at the picture RunsWithScissors brought up. It seems like they have about 5 knives that look almost exactly alike. What's going on?

The other day I was on their web site and I was thinking, Holy Christ, they have alot of knives, the ones I like the most in order are Wolf Pup very nice little knife and the 7 inch Anaconda ( i'm not sure if they make the 7 incher any more I think just the 9) and the Steel Eagle. It seems they would come across as a more military or specialized if they had fewer models but I guess they are trying to please alot of different people in different areas of work. They have quite a few of specialized people from military to police working on the designs and I like all the designs they have but like you say do they have to many? I don't know, they must be doing something right people seem to like their knives as I do also and they are still in buisiness. It is kind of neat to be looking in a knife magazine and you turn the page and lo and behold another new design. I think one of my next purchases will probably be the Wolf Pup. :)

Ya' know I did notice they had a hell of alot of different knives out there. (even before I went on my sarcasm binge regarding the pics they had posted.) But the thing is they have a heck of alot that appeals to me. I only have one TOPS knife, being a Street Scapel that has really served me extremely well. I have a friend up here that carries a Wolf Pup that he's equally fond of. He also carries a pretty wide array of TOPS knives in his store that I have had the opportunity to drool over, and the thing is that they are all extremely well made, and all things considered reasonably priced. I guess that's kinda my perception is that as long as quality remains consistent then there's no problems regarding the selection. I'm sending my Street Scalpel in for refurbishing this week, so hopefully it won't be too long until I have an idea of their Customer Service practices. Judging by the game of phone tag I've been playing with them, I think I'm gonna be pleased!

I own 3 knives from TOPS and love them all. They are very easy to deal with also, but I haven't had to return anything yet. I like the different selection personally.

They certainly have a lot of models but I guess not enough...I don't like any of them. I want to like Tops- they are inexpensive yet well made, and use micarta and kydex, materials usually found on my favorite knives. I don't like a tanto point which excludes a bunch of models, and don't like the traction grooves. But I've been known to change my mind.

I own three TOPS knives now, a CAT 203 w/micarta, a scalpel skeleton that I wrapped and a Cheetah in micarta. All are excellent user knives. The kydex fits and the black finish holds up better than most. The blades are quite sharp and ground with "utility" edge geometry for heavy use.

NO!!!!!! NO!!!!!!! NO!!!!!! and .no.
:p
I personally feel that a company can never sell too many models.
As all of you economics students out there know, if a company can't sell a model, it will eventually drop it.
That's it.
BTW. I LOVE TOPS KNIVES!!!!

Haven't yet encountered a situation for realistic carry for it, but I have a Wolf Pup. I got it used, but perfect condition on the forum. It has to be one of the most likeable knives I've ever seen. I take it out and play with it a bit -- FBs a bit more limited in this than folders -- every few days.

If I ever decide to be eccentric, you can bet I'm gonna carry it all the time. It seems so useful, am sure that if I were carrying it, I would find lots to do with it.

I am sure they make good knives, I just want to know why they have so many models. Just my opinion. The Wolf Pup looks to be solid.
