Does the 110 still have a pivot "bushing"?

What's with the "rolling eyes" at Carl64's question?

Nothing...There isn't a very wide selection of smileys...

Just pointing out that it's an old knife...

I'll go back up and change it... ;)

No problem. Personally I don't care for the "sad" face. It's dark purple, which kind of has an angry look: :(

And what the heck is the difference between these two:
:grumpy:

This one is good though:
:D

If I gave the impression I was belittling Carl64, such was not the case...It's an interesting question, and I'm interested in the answer, too...My sincere apologies if any parties took offence...

I was nailing down the year of that particular knife...since the scan I took doesn't show the dots...

...And hinting at my preference in corner/bolster/scale design..I'm not a fan of the "slab side" 110's...(although I seem to have two of them)...In fact, even the present 110 isn't rounded enough for me...

I'd like to see it more rounded...scales & bolsters... :)

Yep, we have a pivot bushing on the 110/112, 500, 501, and soon to be on the 503.

I knew you wouldn't have meant it like that, but still thanks to the Last Confederate for being an upstanding gentlemen and asking for clarification.

I was nailing down the year of that particular knife...since the scan I took doesn't show the dots...and since I did mention in one of my posts here somewhere you buy could buy & tear apart a new Wal-Mart 110 for pretty close to the price of an eBay 110 [+ S&H]...

I knew it was older, because my father has one of the really old ones. 60's I think.

Same here on the old ones. The squared off corners just aren't right. But I bouldn't want too much rounding. The problem is the handle is almost as thich as it is wide, so a complete rounding of the edges would give us a tube shape. I like to have enough shape to feel which way it points. Maybe convex sides a little to approach an oval cross section.

Actually, I'm sort of glad you started the ball rolling here...I didn't realize I might be violating warranty conditions...I think I got everything all sorted out...

Nothing to see here, folks... :D

Jeff

Any chance of posting pic's of an actual 110/112 with one side removed? I'd love to know more about this.

The 426 and 422 did, the 424 did not.. I'll have to think about other models.. been a long time since I thought about it..
