I'm in search of a night sky sebenza and I notice on some pictures it looks like part of the blue mountain is faded. Almost looks like a finger print smudge. I was wondering after years of use will the blue anodize in the mountain fade away?

Anodizing can wear with enough rubbing. Other times, you can just use a little isopropyl alcohol or Windex to bring back the shine if it becomes a little dull.

Yes ano will wear with use. Think of the blue thumb studs and you are on the right track.
The mountains won’t fade as fast as the studs because they won’t get the rubbing like the stubs but yes they will wear.

Yes, it will fade with use. The good news is that it can be sent back to CRK, they do their magic and the knife comes back looking new.
When you send it in will depend on you.
This one was sent in with scratches and hardly no color. You can see how well it came back.

wow! how much does that process cost? Wish you had a before pic

Fear of fading is what drove me to change my UG Calvary order to a silver contrast. I just wish Lisa was still doing them with the flats sand blasted…mine will be polished flats

Fading would require abrasion, and when anodization is done to engraved portions, fear not. You would nearly need to purposefully scuff up the engraved portions to cause any fade.
Not really, had a Moonsong that had faded areas with no scratches or abrasions on it. Sent it in and it came back looking new.
