Does the knife I seek exist?

Hi guys, thought I'd drop by and fire off a question.

I've been eying the Emerson line for some time, and figure it's about time I pick up my first. I'd swear I've seen the knife I'm about to describe, but I cannot recall where.

Can you tell me if Emerson has made or does make a CQC-7 with tanto blade and o.d. green handles?

TIA for any info/sources you could share.

There were some made but they are not a regular catalog item. The green handled varients of Emerson knives demand a premium price when one does become available on the used market.

Thanks folks, I'll go for a black one.

Have it re-handled? Will the factory do that? If so, anyone have a guess on cost?

you probably saw a cheep k-bar it looks just like a cqc and it has green handles. just fyi

Nope, not it. It was def. an Emerson, but it was some time back. Probably a special edition or the like. No matter, as they say, "black is beautiful". If I REALLY want green, I suppose I could get on the waiting list (how many years is it? :D) for a Custom Emerson (if those are even still available). Seems like I saw one on one of the sales forums. Too much for my current wallet though, I'll "make do" with a production version for now.

Get the black one. Play with it for a while and then when the black G10 is beat up look up STR under the knife maker specific forums. He does great work and can put new slabs of whatever color you want on there.

Finding a green G-10 EKI will not be an easy thing to do ! iv got only one and would like more but.....
Iv also done a heap of "pimped" emersons and changing the scales is one of the easiest things to do when it comes to moding a knife. Get some green G-10 and have a go your self ! you would literally only need a drill press (and drill bits of course:D), a saw, a file or 2, sand paper and some sort of lung protection ! or get STR on the case

Green Emersons are tough to find. The only one I know you can get right now is the limited run Emerson M-Wave with darker green handle material.

When the mini-Commander first came out I purchased 4 with od green handles. I sold all of them and wish that I had them back now.

i've seen some green G10 EKI's on ebay recently, ya should also look at SOCFK's i have a green G10/black tanto SOCFK and it looks cool imho, a lot cooler than a std '7, and waved also.

i also like the green G10 FWIW.

The one I posted a pic of is my mod'ed CQC-7B. I had Phil/ferrrk install thicker Ti liners & Green Linen Micarta scales. The color is very close to Emerson's custom folders.

I have a SFSGH Commander-only one I've seen. I had a black one, sent it back to EKI, and they replaced it with the green.
