Does the Para 2 have a non concentric stop pin?

I read a post that implied that messing with the stop pin altered the lock up of the knife. So I was wondering if anyone knew if the stop pin was non concentric meaning the internal threads are off set so that rotating the stop pin alters the distance from the internal thread axis to the outside of the pin? Just curious. I still haven't got one of these or else I would pull it out and look for myself. Thanks!

Per a recent conversation with W&R, neither the Military nor the ParaMilitary has an eccentric stop pin. Older Military versions had an eccentric pivot. It's been a while since I took a Military apart, but I had a Para2 apart over the weekend and the way the stop pin fits into the liners doesn't allow any room to rotate an eccentric stop pin.

They don't start out eccentric. Enough hard inertial openings will hammer a flat on the stop pin and cause vertical play once the lock travel is used up. Rotating the stop pin so that a different spot is getting smashed will help for a while.

an eccentric pin would probably cause more lock up problems with the way the compression lock functions.

Your bang on the money here Yab. A nice explanation of why rotating the stop pin alleviates vertical play problems (something I've never quite managed to get get accross to people with out writing a 400 word technical manual) Plenty of folk dont quite get how much damage can be done to the Para's stop pin though flicking it open.
