Does the small Sebbie make an OK office knife?

I have a new job, and levi's, along with my large Sebbie are out, and Dockers are in. I have some knives I could sell to finance a small Sebbie, but I'm not sure if it would work in an office environment.

I'm currently carrying a Klotzli wharncliff linerlock or a Spyderco Kiwi, and they seem fine, but I love the Seb's.

Thoughts?

Check out a CRK Mnandi. Definetely office freindly with that great CRK quality you know and love.

I carry a small classic Sebenza every day to an office job. It does not bulge the pocket of dress slacks too much - at least on my frame. I never get shocked looks when I take it out and use it. So it works for me.

I would say the small Sebenza makes an ideal office knife. If you rarely have any heavy cutting to do, a Mnandi is also an excellent choice. In fact, I find the Mnandi clips to a shirt pocket very securely, but it's so light, it doesn't drag the pocket down.

At least you're covered with that Klotzli. They are beautiful knives themselves, and a wharnie is a good light utility blade.

The small Sebenza would make an excellent office knife IMO.

I use to carry mine with Dockers and dress pants all the time. The only trouble I had was that the material on dress pants are thin by nature and I always felt like I was going to lose my Sebenza because of that.

As a fix I ended up removing the clip putting more of a 'bend' in into and then put it back on.

Here's another vote for the Mnandi as the ideal office knife. A small wood inlay Sebenza is nice, too, but the Mnandi is even more sheeple friendly.

The small Sebbie is a nice ofice blade, but in my opinion, only if it has some kind of decoration. The plain ones are great worker bee knives, but are still to tactical looking for many sheeple. Add a little decoration and it becomes facinating. Sheeple like shiny patterns:)

Personally, I'm not sure I could stand to work in an environment inhabited by Sheeple who are put off by such a blade as the small Sebbie's.

One of my EDC's is a Benchmade 921 with black blades and hardware. It is the one I choose when I don't want to frighten someone. I think the near absence of the glint of steel and pleasing shape make it more friendly.

I have a red model, which is sold out, but blue, silver-white, and purple are still available from American Heritage Sports.

I recommend you start out slow and work you way up...maybe begin with a SAK then work up to something larger. It really depends on how sensitive the people in your office are.

I work in an office (shirt, tie, shiney shoes, and all) and typically carry one of these:

BM 885SBT Special Edition
Kershaw Random Leek
Kershaw Chive
SAK Soldier
SAK Tinker
Leatherman Charge
Gerber AR 3.0

I also work in an office, dress shirts, slacks and all, about 85% office time, 15% field time. I EDC a Military 7 days a week.............:)

Another vote for Mnandi. I often carry mine in the included CRK leather pouch deep in pocket and it appears even more so the look of quality that should produce appreciative comment when it's extracted for use. Yet, it's a knife capable of some serious cutting chores and enjoyable to take out and use daily.

Whichever you get, get something with wood or bone or MOP or something inset in the handles. These materials trigger the "grandfather" response in people. Instead of seeing a weapon, they see the pocketknife their grandfather used to carry. A small Seb with one of those mountainy scenes engraved in the handles would probably be OK too.

I wear a suit and tie at work and my office knife is a Microtech Mini SOCOM Elite auto. It works very well for its purpose and I don't really give a **** what people think about it.

KNICE KNIVES!!!! :D
I have never owned a Mnandi, but I have been considering it lately. I have a small sebbie. It is either in my pocket, as one of three, or in my briefcase (taking a nap). I work in an office/laboratory. I use it for everything.

My large sebenza goes to the office with me every day, clipped in the watch pocket of my slacks. I did cut a slit in the bottom of the watch pocket in all my work pants so the knife fits all the way in, though.

If you have any worries or concerns over the size, definitely go with a Mnandi.

The small Seb. is a fine anywhere carry , it bridges the gap between office and weekend , and is no slouch in the great outdoors !
