Got this two dot 110 at a pawn shop this weekend for $2 dollars. Cosmetically you can see it’s been through a lot. Tip is broken and it's got some deep chipping and denting on the brass. But get this... the amazing thing is it locks up like new and blade is perfectly centered. I couldn't pass it up for the price, but I don’t know what to do with it. Never owned a pre-1980 110 and I don’t want to see it retired or put away. I know Buck resharpens blades, but do you guys think this is one that they'll resharpen and reprofile for me? Or is it beyond worth saving?

I'd find someone who can PROPERLY re-tip it, and then send it to BUCK and get the spa treatment I can't say if they would or would do the re-tipping for you. Maybe Joe Houser will chime in.

Yes, it does have plenty of life left. It's no problem to fix the tip. Someone radiused the edges as well, making it more comfortable in the hand. DM

It is easy to fix a tip like that which is only slightly broken. However, since I would recommend you send it to Buck for a Spa treatment, ask them to fix the tip, too.

For $6.95 you'll have that old dog remade into a nearly new knife - it is worth doing as your knife has a good 95% of it's useful life ahead of it. OH

Not a lot can be done to the damaged brass liner just forward of the thumb press, but the rest of the knife and be made to look nearly new.
You will be amazed!
