I thought it reminded me of the native.

Paul

I have to agree with ya man it does look like a Native.
Hmmmm a reason to harass the strider fanatics. This could prove interesting. :D

UHH sorry to tell you guys this but my Strider GB would cut a wimpy native in half!

THE STRIDER FOLDERS ARE BOMB PROOF, they are the strongest bar none folders out there. i am only speaking about the customs not Bucks
as I don't own those.

DON'T F*** WITH THE STRIDER GUYS THEY WILL KILL YOU AND SPYDERCO Will be off this board ASAP!

RLTW

MARSOC is coming

"DON'T F*** WITH THE STRIDER GUYS THEY WILL KILL YOU AND SPYDERCO Will be off this board ASAP"

EASY there guy! Try some more fiber in your diet.

I am serious.

Do not post crap like this.

That design was on the Strider table way back in 1999

The original design of the AR/GB Strider custom folders predates the Buck Folders and PRE-DATES ANY wimpy native forlder spyderco EVER MADE.
Hell if anything 99% of the stuff out there right now rips off Striders work.

Tell me this ain't so...

I don't see any accusations here. But then, with 11 whole posts, you come in and claim, "The Strider Guys Will Kill You"? Man, calm yourself, will ya? This is supposed to be fun.

Leo G.

We're about sharing information and being courteous on this board. I encourage you to join us in calm discourse. You will be welcome here in that mode.

I checked the Spyderco Story (pp 65) and by year 2000 the Native was on it's third blade steel evolution. Native was listed as a new model for 1997.

I certainly won't come to another maker's forum and throw-down. Disagree with a comment anytime, just do it with some respect for other's opinions.

wth? Talk about over reacting. I think the original post was just suppose to be a playful tease. Don't take it so seriously and get so upset over nothing. When you think about it most blade styles look the same anyways. I mean there is only so many different styles you can do before you run out (not counting the crazy fantasy knife stuff thats not practical.)

My Busse Battle Mistress will chop all of your Striders and Spydercos in half:p Bring it on:D

And the Spyderco Native was put into production in 1997.

We like open discussion on this forum, but I require civility and respectfulness in all discourse, or I will shut it down.

Just going to point out that the c41 was in the production list in 96, though it didn't get produced until 97 as we know it. I believe the 96 made it as the BRK produced through Camillus. Many consider the G2(Gin-1) native to be the first.

1996, page 14 of the dealer cat: 440a, 1/8" thick, 12mm hole, PE or 50/50, 2.44oz, 3.125" blade, 3.875" closed, 2.5" cutting, 7" overall, rc 58-60

1997, pg 29 of ELU cat: Gin-1, 3.125" blade, PE or 35/65, 7" LOA, 2.4oz, rc 57-59

I didn't give a hoot who did it first. I just thought it looked familiar. Thats all i said. I thought it looked cool.(and familar) I always liked the blade geometry of the native. I also would love to see a black or camo native. Those knifes are cool but i like the spydie hole.

A live TROLL. And what a beautiful specimen Leathal (?) Edge is.

Kids, please don't forget: Do not feed the Trolls. ;-)

Yeah. Lethal Edge is real cute. He tried to troll earlier on the Busse forum by posting something about Strider folders being superior to Busses, able to cut Busses in half (probably what spurred Bakerj's reply here), and somesuch similar trollishness.

Oh well. We had it killed pretty quick; some kind moderator moved it to the Strider forum archives after I (and maybe others) used the "report post to a moderator" thing.

He won't last much longer if he continues at this rate.

With all of the different manufacturers out there, there are bound to be some similarity between blades.

As far as Striders cutting Spydercos in half, that would appear to be a metallurgic fantasy... :D

There's also a slight difference in price- Several hundred dollars. Apples and oranges.

Ben

Leathal Edge...I see two options for you; Either grow up REALLY fast, and comport yourself as a gentleman while here at BladeForums, or leave.

And learn to spell...It's lethal, NOT leathal..

man this forum is pretty nice. If I tried this in the Benchmade forum I WOULD get chopped in half and THEN banned...

actually I got chopped already...and issued a warning too...just cuz I made the mistake of observing that the AXIS bar seemed awfully close to the end of the tang ramp and asking with wear what would happen...

oh and I got personally attacked and the thread was also deleted. jeez.
