Shopping at KSF noticed a couple that caught my eye both GEC Tidioute #48 knives with clip and wharncliffe blades. But I don't want carbon steel. The description says GEC would be 440C and northfield/tidioute 1095. But my google fu can't find any straight GEC knives in this model with 440c. I can only find northfield or tidioute knives in 1095.

also any thoughts on this knife would be appreciated. My only traditionals are SAK's and buck 110's. What can I expect how smooth are these to open?

Chicken fried - I sent you an email. Quite ironic that the improved trapper that I referenced in my email, was a special factory order by the gentleman that just submitted the reply above. We must have been responding at the same time.

thanks for the info. oh well the search continues.

rockon, sorry no email received checked my junk folder too.

I basically was relaying what knifeswapper said regarding GEC not running it in stainless yet, and that I have a fine example that was actually a special factory order by knifeswapper - African blackwood-beautiful. That's why I said it was ironic since Mike was answering you as I was referring to his run of knives.
