I am looking for a fixed blade; high visibility handle; stainless, serated, sheepsfoot blade, with a kydex or some kind of sturdy quick release sheath. are there any curently being made by anyone?

I don't know of any production knives like that (certainly doesn't mean they don't exist). There are a lot of custom makers making fixed blades; I'm sure you can find someone who would make you exactly what you want.

the rock climbers rescue tool looked good, until I say the price tag. $310 is a little to much for something that I will probably loose or break. other than that, the sheepfoot blades would be good, if I could get them serated. Is that posible?

The Buck Crosslock has a drop point plain edge and the other blade is a fully serrated mariner blade. It is a folder and it doesn't have a sheath so that pretty much screws that but it's the only thing I could think of. Other than a custom I have no idea where you would get a mariner fixed blade, let alone a fully serrated one. This probably didn't help, if it didn't than it was just FYI.

Check out the Myerchin line, James Mattis handles a folder of theirs but he might be able to latch onto one of these for you....

Here is one that might work well for you also;

today I made a sort of prototype to see if I liked it. i took a $10 knife I got at a flea market and cut the tip and filed it to the right shape, and liked it. I just don't want to spend $30 on a kydex sheath for a $10 knife. that myerchin might be the ticket.

I think you should check out Running Dog knife company. They make tons of neck knives in many blade shapes. Their concealex sheaths are great and really well made. Check out their site, then email Michael. Hope this helps.

I have to agree with senator -- the Spyderco Rescue has all you're looking for except the fixed blade and you can usually get it for under $40. I'm an EMT and use a Spyderco Mariner (the larger, metal-handled version) all the time. In fact, I'm thinking of picking up a Rescue or Rescue Jr. to replace the Mariner -- the zytel (?) handle of my Delica is much less slippery when covered in various body fluids.

Oops. Did I go too far there?
