I notice that when I pull my mini-stryker from my pocket, it has pocket lint on it. Does this do any harm to the knife? Also, for those of you who have a mini-stryker, how do you like it?
Thanks in advance.

No real long term problems. But it can prevent the knife from locking properly. As with any tool, you should always keep it clean.

Hello,

harm? NO,,,,but if you dont keep the mechanism clear of prolonged lint Build up it could compromise the Lock up and opening of the action some. you should see some of the Crud i clean out of folders brought to my shop when i regrind them, yuck!!

If you dont have an Air compressor, use a Q-tip or somthing to keep the handle channel clear of debris.

Myself i curred that problem once and for all, I carry a Fixed Blade,,, 8-)

ROTC-the lint shouldn't hurt it at all. I'd be careful not to cycle/open it so that the lint gets wrapped in the pivot, but that's about all. If it makes you feel better, you can buy a can of compressed air at any office supply store and blow it out occasionally. I do that with my folders periodically anyway-it gets the lint and any other foreign matter out of the knife quickly. It's also handy for drying the knife if you get it wet, or for evaporating solvents you might use to clean it. Works great on firearms, too.

Holy Cow, you guys post fast! I should have mentioned the danger of comprimising the lock. Shame on me.

It helps to turn your pockets inside-out before you wash your clothes.

Bought one in '98 and was my daily carry for over a year (if any consolation it was replaced by a large Sebenza!). Great knife, perfect size. Only minor complaint was that the modified tanto has some general utility weaknesses. You could do much worse. I doubt you will be disappointed.

I dont think lint will do anyting but little stuff the size of a grain of salt will. I dont know how it gets in my pocket in the first place but it does and it gets stuck in the liner. This causes the knife not to open as smoothly as it should/could.

I just go the the gas station and put the compressed air up to it and blow it out. If i have spare time, I take the knife apart and clean it with WD40.

I dont have a mini, i have the larger one and i love it

And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold the great red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads...And His tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth; and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.

Stone-washed jeans are the worst. The offenders usually lurk in the little pocket on the right side. That white powder/pebble/boulder always finds its way into the pivot. Some jean companies even make it a point of leaving a few stones in there. I'll take their word for it - keep the rocks out of my pocket(knives).
