It's an old Mexican tourist knife, about 15" long overall. Marked Oaxaca, Mexico with some images and writing on the blade flats/cheeks. There's a rod that runs through the handle which is connected to the hilt and blade, and a button at the very end of that rod that sticks out of the handle end. The aluminum grip rotates slightly on the rod. I'm going to clean it up and give it as a gift. I want to stabilize that grip, if possible, and it'd be easier if I could have it apart to do that . Does the grip come off of that rod somehow? It turns a few degrees, but won't pull off or twist further. I can post a pic if needed, but I don't use Imagur or another hosting site... yet!
