I was looking through a catalog I got today and saw this new knife from Meyerco. Does it remind you of anything? It does me, but I want to give you guys a chance to guess before I tell you what I think.

CRKT KFF + Knight's Armament Steve Ryan SK-01!

Seems they swapped out the hexagonal hole for a triangular one.

CRKT Crawford/Kasper FF, with a "hole" in-place of the thumb-stud? What do I win?.:D.

Looks like a Crawford/Kasper with the false edge shortened a bit and a (IMO ineffective) thumb hole instead of the thumb stud.
Hope they do the right thing....

a crkt kasper/craw. fighter with a cutout instead of stud.

was that in smoky???? looks familiar!!

Glad it wasn't just my imagination. This knife reminds me a lot of the CRK&T Kasper. Here is a link to the Meyerco page that has the pic:

No mention of giving credit to anyone. Do you think it looks close enough to the KFF to be a knockoff or are there enough differences to consider it a totally new knife? I guess what I'm trying to ask is do you think its okay for Meyerco to produce this knife or is it unethical?

They changed the stud to a hole, and changed the ridges to being more "pronounced".
no matter how you cut its wrong!!
Thats like me taking a kovals Daryl Ralph 605 and cutting a thumb stud hole in the handle (adding it that is). Changing the blade into a tanto and calling it completely mine!!!
Ive made over 16 (?) or so of the 605's and its still started out as a kit no matter how many changes I make to it!!!Its still Daryl's design.
Yeah I think its wrong, morally then anything else. Im sure they make the small changes so its harder for them to be prosecuted for it, but I could be wrong.

OK.... let's give him also a slight recurved. But still, rip off.
I suggest contact Mr. Crawford and Mr. Bob Kasper. (and probably CRKT) and let's see how this goes.

I did contact CRK&T and Mr. Crawford. They may not be able to do anything about it but I think they should at least know.

The blade grind is a bit different, but the handle is a dead ringer for the Crawford/Kasper FF and of course the blade cutout vs. thumb stud. A ripoff.
