Does this look like a cracked blade or a scratch?

Hello guys, I bought a handmade knife recently while on vacation and didn’t notice these marks on the blade spine until examining it later on. I’m not sure if the blade has a couple minor cracks or just scratches. What do you think?
One is just barely above the handle and the other is toward the top of the picture.

Are you talking about the marks at the bottom of the image? It's hard to tell what's going on here with the reflections (I think?) in the metal.

You could always take some sandpaper to it. If they come out, they were scratches. If they keep going - cracks.

Either way you’ll have your answer.

Just barely above the handle, the mark extends all of the way across the spine of the blade.

I reached out to the maker via email. Now I’m waiting to hear back.

Wait to you hear from the maker. Once you do anything to the knife it's yours
