(First off I hope I put this thread in the right forum)

Ok, I just got done making the blade to my first ever knife.
But this time I want to go a little more advanced.
I'm prettymuch just cutting out, grinding and then buffing some welding steel that I bought.
Anyhow, I'm thinking about making a pair of these as my second project.
I was just wondering If anyone thinks I can pull it off just yet.

This is a 3d animation of the design that illustrates how the blade can be spun around the index finger.

I plan on making it a little diferrent but its just a simple model.

The shape of the end is baised on Edgar Allan Poe's 'The pendulum and the pit' so I think I'm going to just call them pendulum knives.

I'm very new so ANY advice or suggestions at all would help so very very much.
Thanks.

I wouldn't use welding steel, most likely it's not high enough carbon to harden. I'm not sure what use it might be best suited to, but guessing on the scale of your picture, I might make the tang and ring a little thicker for strength.

MAke one out of wood....You can tell if the design is bad from that.
