Well im here to tell you a wierd thing but i dont know whether there is anything that makes sense about it...
So right here in my country Iceland you are allowed to import a knife which has a blade smaller than 12 cm.. But not a butterfly knife which has around 6-8 blade length?
That is really strange to me, its like they think that a normal pocket knife with a blade is a ''less'' murder weapon than a butterfly knife? Okay maybe there is this one thing that is in the balisong design, i guess that is that the handles often have big spaces in them so its hard to get the fingerprints off them. I dont know if that is really true but They both have blades!
Yes, rules are rules and you cant argue with it, but what is your opinion on this?

We have restrictions on such knives in many parts of the United States too. But the logic behind them is probably just as stupid. Our laws were passed because some meek, incompetent politician watched too many Hollywood movies, where butterfly knives are popular "villain weapons" due to their flashy appearance. Plus they were popular for a time with Latino and Asian gangs just because they were "cool," and lawmakers absolutely love to pick on anything popular with gang culture as something to be banned. In one southern city they tried to ban wearing your pants too low.

Laws are created by people who's main job is just to make up laws. They have to prove that their job is actually necessary, but all of the real laws have already been made. So in a desparate effort to make themselves look necessary, they pull really off the wall BS out of their backside and pitch it as "legislation"
