A friend had this posted for sale on another forum. The buyer said he wanted an immediate refund saying that my friend modded it. Does this look modded to you?

Hi Charlie Mike. Ain't nothing like only posting half the story, eh? ;)

Quote from original thread:
Both are lightly used, some pocket clip wear, in great condition.

It looks like he started to sand it down and then stopped. It's very obvious under a microscope. You can feel the texture from the sandpaper with your fingernail. It appears to have been taken apart as well. Let this be a lesson to everyone who buys knives second hand. Don't pay with a USPS MO unless you know the seller very well. I've had hundreds of transactions and this is the first purchase to go sour, no more money orders for me.

I think he isn't the first owner.

All I know is he came to me about this problem. Anyways, I would have snatched that one up for $80 if I was into Paras. Also, I didn't know anything about previous bannings.

Knife is not MODDED! I told him there was wear on it tang from pocket carry, I dk why this is here and not GBU. That is simple coating wear, When i first got the knife I was told it was never touched or any mods done to it, I've had other Para mili's that have the factory rounded Tang, That is not a mod done by me. And the deal he got it at there shouldn't be any complaints. I told him I apologize for the misunderstanding but am unable to refund at the time. Not here to do anyone any wrong.

I never meant this thread to go in this direction. Closing it.

About paying with a MO: did the seller refuse to refund your money?

Of course, "bills and mouths to feed."

I'll just send it back out for a small loss, should go to a good home at a more respectable price since the buyer will be properly informed this time. I guess if you buy enough knives from people over the internet you'll get dinged eventually.

I think he isn't the first owner.

Anything constructive to add? Or do you just planning on posting incendiary threads tonight?

I told him I apologize for the misunderstanding but am unable to refund at the time.

Of the 4 PMs you sent me there was no apology. Actually, you thumped your chest about having done "more deals than you know" and told me how I didn't know anything about how the knives came from the factory. You also told me not to be a "dick" about posting feedback. Once a lie gets going it just won't stop, eh?

How about this, I'll hold onto the knife in it's present condition and every week or so you send me $20, when you get to the full $80 I'll send you the knife back. We're both trustworthy guys, right?

:)

Disgraceful.

This thread never belonged on Bladeforums since the deal was made elsewhere. Why were we tasked with discussing it?

This kind of dispute certainly does NOT belong in a manufacturer's forum, even if it were a BF deal.

How can you post a simple, not real clear, one side only picture and ask us to assess the knife's condition?

Closed is right. You beat me to it. Let it slide off the page, please.
