Does this Sebenza auction look legit?

I don't see any where in that description that says the extra blades were made by CRK, but the wording could be taken as such I suppose. The serated blade could easily have been made by CRK as they do offer extra blades. The S90V blade with the opening hole was not made by CRK though. New scales for the Sebenza are all over the palce and made by many people these days.

That is a horrible picture. For that much money, I'd rather buy one NIB and have a SE blade made and still come out saving some $.

From what I see in the picture the package looks legit, but idk about the s90v blade being made by CRK.

The guy has 100% feedback with 1070 transactions, so it seems he is reliable.

As far as the price given what's included I think if won at $550 that's not a terrible deal.
Of course opinions will vary. :)

I wouldn't do it. Even if it is 100% legit I wouldn't trust that the blades would fit perfectly with the scales provided given the tight tolerances that leave Idaho. I'm not aware of CRK selling multiple blades with one handle.

In the description it says that the blade is BG42 but it says S30V on the born on date card, just something to think about.

NJerzy154 - To clear that up, the partially serrated blade is the original blade that came attached to the knife and is properly identified as S30V steel in the certificate. The blade currently attached would be the BG42 he identified in the description. What's most curious to me is the third blade with the hole. Never heard Chris Reeve would modify a blade with a hole upon request. You guys ever heard of that happening?

I'm not sure how many time you're going to need to hear it, but the S90V blade with the hole was NOT made by CRK.

There have been other members of this forum that have had blades made in steels that CRK don't deal with so it can be done, just not by CRK.

If that blade came from CRK then they somehow managed to get it manufactured and out of the shop without the grinding Lead knowing anything about it.

Haze - I was already convinced, just wanted to hear some more impressions. I've decided to pass on this auction. I'm trying to get my first Sebbie, but I just can't make up my mind regarding whether to get a plain or decorated Sebenza. Thanks for all your comments!

Flood,

Depending on what decorations you are talking about I would say to get the plain first. It seems to hold its value better than the micarta version. If you are thinking about one of the wood inlays that may be a different story. That way if you don't care for the plain you are able to get most of your money out of it toward the decorated version.

Probabaly a good idea unless your dead set on having a blade with one of the swanky steels. I don't see much more point in going for that one any way. I have always liked the plain jane Sebenzas over the inlayed and graphics models my self. Clean and simple design is something that has always attracted me to the Sebenza. :)
