Does This Small EDC Need A Beefier Sheath?

I often make knives with the philosophy of "less is more," because I am coming from a mindset of light and ultralight backpacking.

I recently made this:

OAL 6 5/8"
Blade: 2 7/8"
Cutting Edge: 2 5/8"
Thickness: +- .094"

Handle: G10, peened brass pins, brass tube, G-Flex epoxy.

Just wondering if you all think the sheath is beefy enough? I used the thinner grade of kydex, and I left minimal leather around the holes where the leather attaches. For my purposes, it would be strong enough, but I am wondering what everybody else thinks.

Thanks.

Should be good to go just as it is. The weak spot I see is the single ply belt loop with cut slots. A longer loop rolled back over itself and then 2 ply attachment would seem to be stronger, and would be an easy fix at any time.

The thickness should be fine. There are full time makers who use .060 for most things.

Agree with Paul on the loop. Those aluminum posts and screws are a weak point though. I'd pick up some steel or brass ones.

Nice knife

For a " less is more " sheath , that is a very large piece of leather .
Can I ask what the reasoning is behind using leather for the belt loop ?
Why not Kydex ?
