Looking for my first traditional slippie, I've decided I like the stockman pattern, medium or large. I've mostly been looking at Queen Cutlery because of the D2 steel, 1095/CV would be my second choice followed by "stainless" I'm guessing thats 420hc or 440A? While I like the look of stag handles, I don't like the feel, I really prefer the smooth black g-10 on some of the case knives I've handled followed by wood handles.

So my question is... do any good makers make a large or medium stockman in black g-10 in D2? Basically a queen cutlery large Stockman with Case's black g-10?

I have never seen one of those in a production knife. I don't think one exists but I could be wrong.

I suppose you could get a Queen Large Stockman and have the scales replaced with black G10.

Queen does make a Large Stockman with Curly Zebra Wood scales and D2 steel.

Queen used to make a line of D2 pocketknives with smooth cherry delrin handles -- that's at least close. You could scour that popular auction site for one, or maybe some shops still have 'em in stock.

I've never seen one. I know AG Russell makes some traditional knives in rucarta, but no stockmans. Best bet would be to have someone make handles for an existing knife.
