I'm looking at a folder with Timascus scales. I realize everything shows wear eventually but will holding the handles mar the looks of the knife sooner rather than later?

Holding, no. Carrying yes, the knife will show wear.

The heat anodizing done to Timascus is more durable than the electric anodizing you see on standard titanium knives, but it still shows wear and scratches somewhat easily.

To remove hand oils, hit the Timascus with a cloth with ammonia based Windex and it’ll leave the knife looking like new. :)

Thank you, kind sir.

I didn't know about the Windex solution at first, and was amazed when the color was just seeming to "slide off" with my finger-touches on my first and only pair of ano'd scales. I was like - this is insane, what a Gyp, this could only ever be sold to exist as a safe queen... but nope, seems okay! I got to stop babying that! Even have a leather belt-sheath for it, so no worry about banging around in the pocket.
