Does vaseline work for stainless and carbon blades... pros or cons?

Vaseline will act as a moisture barrier, but it contains no active corrosion inhibitors. So if the intent is to protect the knives from corrosion, there are other products that will work better.
 
I use it all the time on my razor as the bathroom tends to be a moist environment. I've also used heavy mineral with good success. DM
