Does anyone know if Victorinox now repair Wenger knives? Anyone with some knowledge or experience with this?

I dug up some older Wengers (from circa 2005, I believe) and have a couple with weakened springs.

If I recall SAK sales fell on their face due to heightened airline security immediately after Sept 11 2001 and Wenger faced bankruptcy. Victorinox was also hurting but chose to diversify it's product line beyond knives and bought out rival Wenger to ensure that the SAK name didn't fall into offshore manufacture interests.

It will likely be a bit if column A, bit of column B situation. As parts run out for older wengers, they will likely do a swap, but they do try really hard to repair rather than replace on older knives, and ones with sentimental value, so its always worth communicating directly any time you have concerns.

And to help out Wenger employees. The two companies have helped each other for years.

Should e-mail them. I'm close by & visit the store & seen Wenger products so I believe they would. GC

Part of the response from Victorinox;

'Thank you for your request. Please be advised that we do perform repairs on Wenger knives as well as Victorinox Swiss Army knives. You can send your Wenger knives to our Corporate Office in Monroe, Connecticut. I have provided our address below:'

That answers that and off they for repair.
