Guess I shouldnt compare it to the small classic.
When I push the blade (tip) to the side it seems to move quite a bit

There should be absolutely no play of any sort in any direction. That is one of the knife's hallmark features.

mine has a tiny bit of side to side play in the closed and half open positions, but i really beat it up, i'm sureit will be sorted when it gets sent back for a refurb in a year or two

I've only had seven Sebbies (that's not many compared to some CRK addicts) but none of them have moved in any direction except to open and close... no blade "play" at all.

My small Seb has no side to side blade play.

Question, did you by chance disassemble it and pinch one of the washers during reassemby? If this was the case, you would have noticed that it does not open/close very smoothly and the blade may be slightly off-center in the closed position.

This might not be the case at all, just thought I'd throw it out there. You might try disassemby and reassembly a time or two with a good lubing and see if there's any improvement. Lube has a way of absorbing some of that "micro-slop" between washers, blade, and bushing.

Good luck in any case. I hate to hear about a sick Seb.

Professor.

That's very true, I waited two weeks, but i'll be getting mine back today!! it's been torture not having it.
