Hi there guys,
I don't currently have any CRK knives, but am certainly thinking of one. I want to know if anyone feels the knife would take a life of possible hard use/abuse or should I stick with my D'Allara for work and keep it for more EDC applications.Truth is, I would have a hard time spending this kind of money to have it sit in my dresser. From pretty much everything I have read, most of you have them as daily users.I know it may not be the best knife for rescue applications, but do you shy away from really using them? Thanks.

I don’t buy a knife unless I’m prepared to use it, and I regularly use my large classic Sebenza around the farm. It gets used for everything: opening bales, opening bags, tidying up leather harness, whittling, food prep, and even cleaning up the ends of poly pipe. It’s a great cutting tool, and I trust it to do a good job.

I bought a Classic Sebenza to see just how tough Sebenzas are. I've used it for just about everythng over the coarse of a year. Everything meaning, food prep, hacking at branches, cutting into tires, cutting sundry wires, yard work and just about any abuse I can think up to test it. After a year, the knife still had solid lock up and I had learned to sharpen/ strop (after initial difficulty due to my inexperience) the blade for desired sharpness. It did fine and I felt it could still handle anything. As others have said, buy it and use it (hard), you won't be sorry. Hope this helps.

I've EDC'ed my Mnandi for 2+ years now and I have used it to cut up cardboard, carve wood, cut food (lots of food), open mail, (carefully) scrape stickers off of items, etc. etc. I maintain on a sharpmaker and it still sharpens up nicely, locks up tight as a vault. It may look pretty; but it is one tough knife.

I don't buy knives to not use them!! Buy it, use, and enjoy it!! It is a fantastic knife!

Oh yes, she does! EDC tool at home, in my kydex-making shop, in the woods... all the time. That's without any doubt the most often used knife I have. And I use it HARD! Awesome knife.

I work as a stgehand and have EDC'd a large regular with a BG-42 blade going on seven years, hasn't let me down yet.

My Sebenza makes up for the fact that I wasn't born with a claw much like that of a Raptor to cut stuff with. My Sebenza is like a sled dog. It gets worked hard, yet seems to enjoy itself in the process. I know I enjoy working with it. :)

My Sebenzas have a pretty chush lifestyle. Letter openning, food prep and light yardwork. My work Mnandi doesn't have it so nice.

I keep it in my locker at work. I'll bring it home with me and post a pic. It's has been serving me well everyday for the last 2 years, I've only sharpened it once. It's good for making delicate cuts in nasty places*****please note this is not a reference to violence but I use the knife in medical emergencies**** but I don't keep it as clean as I should but it keeps on working great.

I have gutted a deer with it and other small game such as rabbits and squirrels and cut up food and other edc chores, I ruff my small classic up.

Since getting my Large Regular Sebbie, no other knife has ridden in my pocket nor seen more use. In fact, I've just about stopped collecting knives since I consider this CRK to be my Excalibur....

IMHO, the Sebenza will handle anything that you can throw at it and keep on smiling.

Probably the heaviest work one of the Sebenza's I've owned was a Pre-Classic Classic with ATS-34 blade, I think it's now in the hands of St James, you'd not know by looking at it but it did some hard work in a water line ditch cutting plastic piping in mud and slime water, nasty dirty but handy to have to cut when it was needed. Easily cleaned, and re-lubed up and good as new, edge stayed pretty sharp after the day as well. Other jobs, are the usual ones, box cutting, banding, ropes, wire stripping and the ever present envelope ;)

While I no longer own a large Sebenza, I JUST received a lovely small wood inlay Classic, Ebony wood which makes for a nice contrast to the ti frame.
Blade of BG-42 which is tasty sharp...

Carried it today, as a matter of fact. Opened up the box for our baby's crib with it when I put it together this afternoon, a fine knife.
