Doesnt this look like Mick Dundee's knife?

Mos Def.

One of these days one of those wil come up on a trade and it will be mine! I love that knife.

I have that Blackjack knife, actually mine is an original early 90's Blackjack Anaconda II. A great knife, or at least the 90's one is, i have no experience with the new Blackjacks.Anybody here own a new Blackjack? Whats the verdict?
I think the Crocodile Dundee knife was slightly different more like one of the Puma Bowies. Some of the new Linder knives also look similar to that Crocodile Dundee knife.

I saw an old, pitted, German-made Kershaw bowie on ebay that looked exactly like Dundee's knife. I wish I had bought it. The Linder Crocodile Hunter is similar, but lacks the wicked curved back edge of the movie knife.
The actual movie knife was an aluminum copy of that Kershaw, I believe.
The Blackjack Anaconda II is still a nice knife, though.

I also have an original Blackjack anaconda II knife I had purchased from US Cavalry. It is one of my favorites, I have handled the new blackjacks at a gun show, they feel nice, perhaps a little bit lighter. Does anyone know what steel was used in the 90s blackjack anaconda? I thought it might be 44A or C, but the new ones are AUS-8. On another knife forum, I talked about the artist who made it, one of the only men who was authorized to fix Puma knives for Puma, cannot remember the bname now.

See the knife and read the story

I have to share. When I first read the post title I thought it said Mick Duane. I saw the bowie and thought, damn , that dont look like a strider at all. Hehe, yet another brill-aint moment from Big Jim.

The only difference that I can tell is that the blade width looks more narrow than the Anaconda. I have always loved the dundee knife. Based on the info I have got, it was designed by Jonn Bowring, and authorized Puma repair man.

Anyone think they will make a commercial reproduction of it? Also, I have meant to ask Mike Stewart, former owner of Blackjack, if there ever was an Anaconda I, which I have been told never was produced.

Mike stewart told that yes indeed, the Anaconda I was made in Effingham days. I think back now, and guess that the company I bought it from just ran out of #1 and sold me the #2. It turned out great for me since it is one of my favorite knives. The steel was 420HC made in Japan.

i always thought it was a wide sweeping bowie blade, like ontarios raider bowie, and the handle was i thought stag. shows ya how long its been since i seen the movie i guess.

Interesting that only 2 original Dundee knives exist and that Paul Hogan owns one and the writer of the Dundee scripts owns the other. All other copies are said to be aluminum or rubber.

I have a knife that is about as close as you can get to the Dundee knife ... and it has a STEEL blade!. It's not a 100% exact copy, but the size and shape of the blade, includingfullers (and style of the hilt) are really hard to tell from the original, even when you look closely at the movie knife. Blade is 10.75" long x almost 2" wide at widest point x 16" overall. Is that a knife or what?!
