Here is a Dog Bone handled Bowie I just finished. This one took a while but was fun. Needs a little cleaning but complete. My San Mia ribbon Damascus, nickel silver, sterling pins and elephant ivory.

Nice piece Dan.
Funny as you didn't identify it as a miniature in your description and at first glance I noticed how BIG your maker's mark appeared. After scrolling down to the last photo I saw it was a miniature.

I recognized it as a miniature immediately. It looks very nice, but I think the blade should be a little longer to give it proper proportion.

I think many would recognized it as such at a glance. I was attempting to be a bit humorous as it looks as Dan may use his full size mark on his miniatures. Thus being un-proportionate to the tiny raccaso.

I expect getting the proportions just right may be one of the more difficult task in making a miniature. Not just the the handle to blade but even the more subtle elements such as guard/ferrule to handle, escutcheon to pins etc.

Yep, making a miniature is MUCH more difficult than one would expect, but that doesn't seem to hinder Dan in creating VERY nice examples.

I recognized the proportions to be a bit off too...but it IS a very cool miniature.

Thanks for posting it.
