I took my Van for a drive up the California coast today and stopped in a Eucaliptus grove for a cup of tea. While walking about with my Dog Chew Puukko, thanks to sitflyer's generous GAW, build thread here http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...kko-Stag-Handle-DONE!?p=12246878#post12246878 , we discovered a dead Cat.

After failing at skinning, went to lunch in Pescadero, a sleepy village with a long history of survival and tenacity in the middle of nowhere.

Dog Chew Puukko fails to skin a Cat (believe what you see, not what you read :-), no Cats were harmed in the filming of this episode)

You know, I am slow on weekends. Took me a moment to ID the dead cat. Nice post. Pretty part of the state.

Nice pics - little North of where I use to live. One day I'd like to take the family to visit Salinas & Monterey.

That's a beautiful part of the country, Jon.

If you can find a knife that will skin that cat, I think I'd like one. ;)

Nice pics thanks for sharing. Now I'm wanting a 4X4 van too. :o

Thanks for the great pics Jon! Nice to see that knife out and about with you in that beautiful country
I spent some time up in Petaluma many years ago...

I LOL, thanks
sorry for the misleading title, I edited it (was Dog Chew Puukko skins a Cat) to reduce the illusion of sensationalism :-)

I thought you might be getting us ready for a new "cat skin" cap you might be sporting in future pics!

:D

I avoided this thread for a while not really wanting too see a failed skinning of a possibly moldering carcass, glad I finally clicked on it to see the beautiful, pictures of the knife and the countryside. Thank you sir for a nice laugh and for your beautiful pictures

Looks like you had a nice trip. Do you do much camping in that VW Van?

I try to get out about once a month for an overnighter

at those times I carried this Wolverine Puukko

whose handle I found too fat and recently reprofiled,

due to impetus and inspiration from Duanes Dog Chew Puukko, which has supplanted the wolverines place in the cab of the syncro van.

here is a thread of our adventures as the Lost Burritos, a group of van friends going mostly to big sur, but also other places within 5 hours of Santa Cruz, lots of pics
