There have been a couple generations of tags.
The earlier ones were stamped metal, military-like in appearance. Some had model names as well as the company information, others jsut had company information.
The newer ones were aluminum with a printed (inked) logo. Some of them were serial numbered, and the proceeds of those went to a worthy cause.
There have also been a number of counterfeit tags come on the market, especially on Ebay.
