Some dogs (in this case a Bull Terrier) have alot of drive and don't feel much pain. In the early days of the "Bull breeds" and even today in some regards, these were sought after traits.

Yep, I've heard of these dogs at fights. They will literally fight to the death and face anything. I wouldn't fancy trying to bargain with him if he had a grip of me by the "tulips"
