What are my sheath options without sending in the knife to get some custom kydex? Any kydex makers own one? Anyone know a great fitting 10" molle sheath or a canvas one that just works on belts? I have searched and come up with no options except sending it in somewhere. I just unwrapped it, so I'm looking at options.

Luckily, my RTAK II has some nice Kydex, so I have a spare RTAK II sheath that might fit OK short-term.

Ask David Brown of Buy Brown. aka the kydex whisperer

Oh, I was not aware that KW was David Brown, hahah. I already emailed David from his website however. He sold his DogFather, so I'd have to send it in to him (same with Mashed Cat and a few others I contacted via their web sites ahead of this post). Too bad there is not a Spec Ops or similar for 10" blades... or is there?

When will LMIW start selling again?!?! That teaser got me excited but it's been way too long.

Yeah those look nice! Maybe I will wait a bit. In related news, anyone know where I can get a spare BK15 sheath? I am going to use it for a Kanetsune I just got that has a unusable sheath made of wood. Here's how the Dogfather is living for now:

and a family pic with son and a cousin

try rainwalker. https://sites.google.com/site/rainwalkercreations/kydex-prices I've seen a few of these knives for sale searchin' the web being sold with a rainwalker sheath so I'm guessing he's might be worth a shot.

If all else fails, and you end up needing to send it in to somebody, BuyBrown can fix you up View attachment 577275. Fedex is usually the cheapest option on ship + insurance. Priority Mail Flat rate is about $6.60 w/o insurance

Yeah, SYKCO makes great knives which are shipped from the same location as all the Busse Combat knives I've bought.

Scrapyard Knives are great! 😄

I really like the Dogfather. 😃

I could go on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on about the great SCRAPYARD KNIVES I have and all the things I've done with them.

😜

Great score, crufflers! I hope you find the sheath you want. :)

Great tip. He was one of the web contacts I inquired with and he emailed me back - sounds like he's the guy that still has a Dogfather. I know SYKCO used to sell some basic molle sheaths with inserts, but they have not had any listed for a long time, except a leather mutt sheath. The RTAKII sheath is not horrible. I like it better than cardboard ;)

I'll probably try Rainwalker or send the knife into BB. I have a few BB and AZW and like all of those. The one Mashed Cat I have is waiting for a Rodent6 from SwampRat. Just got a TGLB direct, I have a ASH1 coming in tomorrow and some TRASH next... geesh, a year ago I was not fascinated by fixed blades in the least. Time to slow down if I can.

Thank you! I love those handles! I couldn't resist grabbing two SOD's and two Regulators, but I resisted another 711 recently. I need to get this SYKCO sickness under control.

I'll check out the Scrapyard forums as well. I have been registered over there, I just haven't spent much time there. I assume there's tons of sheath finding resources there and probably people with extra stuff they want to sell. I'm just used to finding all my deals here in the exchange so I thought I'd ask.

OK, just one more annoying sheath question before I go get my ASH1 BG from UPS - just got the email notice, it is in!

The BG ASH1 should fit in a CG ASH1 kydex? OR are they different ?

Why not just send it in? You can have whatever maker you want this way and it will be a perfect fit to your knife. i.e… Why buy a custom knife that isn't custom fit to your knife?

It does sound like the best solution, but I have never had any issues with SYKCO stuff and fit. I can see where the BUSSE and Swamp Rat handles would vary more. My TGLB kydex sheath does need some wearing in because it is real tight on the hand guard.

I guess I could think about it as part of the deal. After waiting so long for them to be built and ship, it sucks to pack them up and ship 'em off to wait some more.
