I came across the A.G. Russell dogleg trapper a few weeks ago and i cant get it out of my head. My knife budget isnt any where near what i need for the stag handle so until then it will only be in my head.

Has anyone of you folks own or had the chance to handle one... i want to know if my pining is appropriate. How is the quality on the Japanese made slip joints. Its a beautiful knife but I want quality

Thanks in advance for any responces.

It looks great. I do not have any knives in VG10 so I could not comment. I also would expect that knife to be pretty well fit and finished for that price. I would make sure there is a satisfaction guarantee where you pay shipping to get your money back for that price for a production slippie in case there is an issue/flaw/blade play. My opinion so far about AG Russell is that they are trustworthy, as heard by other forum members. Japanese can be serious about cutlery, but I have no expertise for that item you show. I know of the feeling you talk about. I can relate all too well.....How sweet it is....

Dennis, I know that you are trying to be kind, BUT, that is a grievous insult.

When in 45+ years in this business did I fail to stand by my guarantee?

Usually means "perhaps more than half," you have cut me to the heart!

I think you're being a wee bit sensitive. He was giving you a compliment.

He is being facetious but he is right about his record.

Who? Dennis or Mr. Russell? I doubt there is a single person on this forum that would question Mr. Russell's actions when it comes to taking care of his customers. His reputation is beyond reproach.
