I was ordering a few other knives for myself and gifts and saw the Spyderco Dog Tag, so I bought one on a whim. Are they really worth the pricetag? This better be a great little knife!

I don't have one but I have other small knives. I think the real value is in the convenience. Cause it's so small you're likely to have it handy.

Omg yes! They are worth it! Which one did you get? I own two. The black TI, and the blue Ti. Well, I own one actually. My wife literally took the blue one out of my hands when I opened the package. Along with my teal df2.
But seriously, it’s a great little knife if you know what to expect from it. Supporting your main blade, and being cool. It’ll open packages, cut tags/loose threads, start that orange peel. Stuff like that. It’s a chisel grind, so sharpening is pretty simple. You’ll want to add a fob most likely. That vastly improves the handling. Also the detent based slip joint is really a beautiful design that is enjoyable to operate. There is definitely a fidget factor.

If you know what you expect from such a small knife, it could be surprising useful in your daily life. I bought a Mcbee recently. I thought I bought it for its cute look not for the function. I was totally wrong. It is in my pocket all the time, doing great job covering 99% of a EDC is used for. Also the ergo is surprising good on the small knife. I don't have the dogtag, but could expect similar performance from it.

They are cool and functional knives when you need a quick blade. Easily disappears in your pocket so i recomend a lanyard. The grind is bit thick for tasks like breaking down boxes though, however as a box opener and other simple cutting tasks, its a cool knife.
