Hey, Guys,

Is there anybody out there that WILL do oil-quenchable steels? I have a piece out of Thunder Forge Damascus from TKS, that's supposed to HT like 1095...only trouble is, apparently nobody likes to do 1095 or O1!!!

I was hoping to have Paul Bos do it, but it seems, from my searching, that he's only doing air-hardening stuff...BUMMER!!!! Anybody below the Mason-Dixon line HT'ing 1095? For less than my kid's college fund?

Thoughts, comments, analysis, Mr. Spock?

Have you thought about HTing it yourself? That is what I have ended up doing on my first 4 knives and they have all turned out very well. Of course, that damascus is wayyy more expensive than 1095 so you might not want to.

Always think of your fellow knife makers as partners in the search for the perfect blade, not as people trying to compete with you and your work!
