Had a real good knife mishap yesterday. We we're getting assembled for our end of tour awards ceremnony which meant we were all in new uniforms and military uniforms being what they are I attempt to remove some loose threads from a fellow soldiers uniform and ended up cutting a quarter of the through the tip of my finger. Which wouldn't have been all that bad but dripping blood in formation while a Lt.Col and Sgt. Major pin an award on you is definitely uncouth. Tried direct pressure with a paper towel and it wouldn't stop , elevation helped a little but I was going to need my arms down for about an hour. Luckily I got some band-aids and was able to stop the bleeding about one minute before we fell in.
