Doing Some Inlay On a Emerson CQC-7

I've done this previously on an Emerson Commander which is a much larger scale profile to work with. I was able to use a .0625" end mill for the radius corners on that project. Porting the Punisher half skulls over to the smaller CQC-7 scale profile forced me to move down to a .0394" end mill for the radius corners. Such a tiny end mill makes for some glacial feeds and speeds... BUT it works well. The inlay and pocket are absolutely perfect for a puzzle fit. The texture is something I call Predator Plate.

I'll follow up with pics of an assembled knife once I finish these off...

The first image show a CAD Preview of the inlay process...
Second pic is during the later stage of the machining process... I use indexed machining so you can see two 1/4" stainless pins near the coupon edges at the centerline...
Third pic is fresh off the machine with the scales still attached to the coupon by tabs...
Forth pic of of the scales removed from the coupon and freshly scrubbed with soap and water... that's the wet look. Machine tool finish... no sanding at this point!
Last pic is a montage of potential color combos with the G10 I have on hand... just playing a bit to get some ideas...

Wow buddy, I really need to get me one of those. So freaking cool.
You must be getting swamped.

While I'm not a fan of the glossy final pic (just a personal preference), the more subdued flat pics look amazing! You've definitely got talent!

Yeah... they are glossy because I just washed them and they are still wet... they came off the CNC and I scrubbed the machining residue for the pic...

Here's the knife pics... finally got some sun so I went out to my favorite rock...!
