I received a Branton\Brend model #2 from my Ups driver today. I have had knife lust over Walter’s Grinds for sometime. When I saw that Bobby Branton was doing a mid tech version, I spent some time starring at the ceiling thinking, “buy this knife”. I’ve got an August trip to the woods of Arkansas scheduled and in September I’m off to the Sierras. It’s not like I needed an excuse, but a heavy, duty knife just seems like the thing.
I’ve handled Walter’s Knifes and they are magic. I just don’t want to beat a $1,000 + knife. I weighed my options, there’s a couple knives out right now that fit this category, but decided to buy from Bobby.

Have you ever had the experience of having a 5.0 mustang convertible crush you into your seat? Pretty similar experience to handling this knife. It has a shipping weight of two pounds but in my hand I’d never guess it’s two lb. of steel. Really great balance and feel. The finish is really good, to be sure it’s not the same as Walter’s knives but I paid 1/3 the cost.

I don’t usually want to drive out to the desert and dismantle an ironwood tree. I might today though.

Thanks Bobby/Walter I can’t say enough about this knife.

This year seems to be flying by. I am close to getting all of my back orders cleared up and hope to start having some knives in inventory soon. I am finally establishing a network of dealers to help me get more knives into the hands of more people. I will try to get this information up on my web site as soon as possible. I have two folder projects that I am working on and hope to have some prototypes real soon. I am going to start making a few custom knives in the next month so that I can trim down my back log a bit. I will also be introducing a couple of new tactical style Mid Tech knives in the coming months. If you have any ideas or if you are looking for a specific style knife, let me know and maybe we can whip one out of the custom shop.
