I am gonna have a biz trip from Toronto to Vancouver soon and I have a question about travelling with knives and lighters. It's a domestic flight, does anyone know if I can carry my lighter and knives in carry-on luggage?

I think lighters have been very recently banned but don't quote me on that one.

better safe than sorry, just pack them in your suitcase instead, or leave them at home.
they dont allow nail clippers these days, and even things like the gerber solstice:

its absolutely rediculous, they wont allow a miscroscopic pair of scissors or a small keychain SAK meanwhile someone could carry on a 6" plastic or ceramic knife with no problems. i just dont get it - i mean i understand upping security but wtf is someone going to do with a pair of 1/2" scissors on a keychain?

Knives in checked luggage is ok with me, it's the lighter thing that puzzles me. The CATSA's site said that disposible lighters are ok to bring along on flight, but what about Zippo? Do they even allow me to put it in checked-in? There's this Zippo lighter I've been carrying around for years now and it's like an old friend of mine, if u know what I mean.

Leaving my toys home is one option.. it's just that the inner child in me always wanna travel with them. Sigh.....

I have been allowed to bring nail clippers on my latest couple flights maybe they figured out that hijacking a plane with a nail clipper would be quite difficult.
