The Dominator may just be my Holy Grail of factory tactical folders! Let me tell you why.

I posted this on another forum but I would also like to see what you think.

The Dominator is:
1. Very strong.
2. Made from premium quality materials.
3. Made to last several lifetimes.
4. Good looking.
5. Big enough for those "serious social situations."
6. Small enough for utility use.
7. Power assisted (but not so sensitive that it will open in
my pocket).

I compared the Dominator's blade to the blades of about a dozen 4 inch folders by several manufactures and found its cutting edge to match or exceed the cutting edges of most of them, even though the Dominator's blade is only 3.65 inches long.

A short story to illustrate my feelings. A friend recently asked me how many knives I was carrying. My friend knows that I usually carry 3 to 6 knives at any given time. I told my friend that I was only carrying one knife, my Dominator, and that I didn't feel under-protected. All in all, I am extremely pleased with my Dominator.

:D :) :D :) :D

Hi Chuck, I totally agree with your assessment on the Dominator. I recently purchased one and as of now is the ONLY knife I am carrying! I was never much of a folder guy until I got my first one... the CUDA Maxx 5.5 I totally love that knife but it tends to scare the sheeple. The Dominator is my second folder (I don't count my slipjoints...) that I will carry regularly, and it does it all plus is addictive as heck with the robo assist. The bad part is, I don't see myself buying another non slipjoint folder again. With these two, all needs are covered. I know it isn't likely that a Sebenza nut will see this, but having seen and handled a Sebbie, the Dominator is just as solid and way more ergonomic at half the price.

Ahh, Mongo--feeling feverish again?? That sounds so . . . final! Don't worry, maybe I'll see you at the Badger Show in Spring where you can attend to your "needs" again :p

Summerland, I still have NEEDS... but they are currently being met. I just got that fine stag Cover which is working like a dream now, and rumor has it my Primos is in the mail. Should be a joyous homecoming. I still "need" the Becker necker and as always... anything gorgeous with stag.
In the meantime, I'm still flicking open and close my sweet Dominator.:D

The more I carry my Dominator, more I like it.
The blade shape and size is GREAT. To lock/unlock is smoother
at every use!
I would also like this knife even is it wasn't a robo!
Great knife!

I've been carrying one almost daily for a couple of weeks now and I really like it. I agree with Mick that I would carry it even without the Robo-Assist. If Camillus would address some of the CQ issues (mine has some, and I've heard of others), I could honestly say that the Dominator is 90% of a Sebenza for less than half the price.

how does the dominator stack up against the buck mayo? both are s30V n framelocks....although there are size differences. how thick is the blade of the dominator? what is the angle on the edge bevels on the dominator?

Klesk and Mongo,
What kind of grind does the Dominator have? Is it a hollow grind like the Sebenza? How thick is the blade stock? How thick is the frame lock? Would this cut better than a Sebbie, or worse or about the same.
The Robo flipper thing feature seems to me that it might be more useful as a guard. One thing I didn't like about the sebbie I had was that there was no guard or a substantial finger stop.
For all intends and purposes, it seems to be an economical version of the Sebenza. I am really impressed with the leaps and bounds Camillus has made in their product line. Maybe the Dominator will reduce my Spydie Military, Endura, and BM 940...

I'm carrying it more and enjoying it more,,,
review of my simple mods: lowered access area so I can unlock knife
easier, cut four very small grooves in the flipper, it was so smooth
before my finger would slip off. With these small grooves, knife fires
every time, no miss fires!! Used Dremel tool for the mods.
Next will be to reduce the size of the tits (blade stop area)on the handle,,just a little.
Great knife, the blade on mine has started to lean to one side when closed.

i love my Dominator, in fact it's my EDC. the only thing that bothers me is that, like others, the blade is starting to wander to the non-locking side of the handles. is there a fix for this? i'm pretty anal about the blade being centered in my knives. bronze-phospher washers would be nice too.
