Reading through some of the topics here I see there have been problems with the nylon washers in the Dominator wearing. Is this common with all Dominators? I was thinking of ordering some of those Phosphours Bronze washers to replace them with. How hard is the Dominator to take apart, put in the new washers, and put back together? Will I void my warranty doing this? Does anyone have any tips on making it easier to push open with the flipper?

I've taken my Aftermath apart and its pretty straight forward and simple. Not sure about the Dominator as I don't have one [yet...] but I would think it's about the same.

Found out the hard way that bronze isn't always the ticket. I put some bronze washers in the 'math that I got directly from Darrel. Turns out there is a bit of lateral play in the pivot and no amount of fiddling with the pivot could take it out. Tighten up too much and the blade doesn't have free movement. I'm extremely anal when it comes to side-to-side play in folders so I ended up taking the bronze ones out and returning the Teflon ones to duty as they don't allow lateral play yet the action is still very smooth. Reason is Teflon will compress slightly allowing this smooth action and tight fit. Bronze will not give at all. If you can stand a little bit of lateral play, then go for it. YMMV.

Hi,

if it´s a help, you´ll find a picture of a disassembled Dominator HERE.
Doesn´t look to complicated.

I wouldn't do it.

Had a bad experience with putting bronze washers in a Dominator.

Stick to the Teflon ones, there's very little play and the action is mostly fine, depending on how picky you are.

Email me if you want to discuss off-line.

Anyone find a way to considerably reduce the force needed to push the flipper? The more I use it the more comfortable I get with it, and I also wondering if there wasn't any resitance if you could get a quick enough push to deploy the blade.

I have found the best way to deploy the blade using the flipper is what I call a sweep motion with the index finger.

When you place your finger on the flipper, the tip of the flipper should hit fairly close to the first joint. With the entire pad of your finger tip in contact with the spine of the handle, pull your finger through the flipper. Works everytime for me and the blade opens much quicker than when trying to use just the finger tip.
