As I posted on Jan. 26 in this forum, I have had a series of problems with a Cuda Dominator purchased a few months ago. I wont go into the problems, but after the Jan post, Will Fennel, known to all here, called me at home. I explained the situation fully to him and he offered several solutions to my problems. The solution that I liked the best was the replacement of my early manufacture knife with a current manufacture version.
I hope to be corrected, by Will or others, if I am wrong, but I am of the belief that on some early knives, the robo mechanism activates when the flipper is about 1/8 within the scales. The current ones activate before the flipper goes out of finger contact. Requiring inertia as a part of the activation process was giving me trouble and most of my problems were the results of attempting to reduce the level of inertia required and thereby making the knife a reliable opener in my hands.
My replacement knife is exactly what I would hope it to be. And, with the exception of the later actuation, the information Will gave me when he called would allow me to put the second knife right.
Thanks for everyones advice and thank you, Will, for going an extra 4 or 5 miles to satisfy one single customer.
