Dominator/Service Problems

Ok, I have read all the post about great service at Camillus. So, I have to wonder if I am expecting too much.

First the knife itself was difficult to open, and the blade had play both vertically and horizontally. So, I have a knife that has a loos blade and it hard to open. Great combination. It also had the infamous off-center blade position. Sounds like the washer problem that seems so common.

At one point I was told, just send the knife in and we will be happy to send you a new one without the problems. I sent the knife over a month ago and now am told that it had to go through different departments to get to the repair facility and it only got there about three weeks ago!!!! And I may get it back in antoher week or so!!

Is that what you guys call great service?

Did I talk to the wrong people or what?

I agree. That is not good service. I guess I've been spoiled with my Benchmades and the perfect CS that I get with them. I have a MA Dominator and it is flawless. I believe I paid way too much for it. Especially when it cost more than the Robo-assisted models. Good luck getting your knife back soon. Keep the pressure on them!

I have to agree that this is really bad service and I am surprised. This isn't what I know of Camillus Customer Service. To be fair to Camillus, every company has an occasional issue that falls through the cracks some how. That doesn't make it right, that just shows that there are humans doing things and mistakes can happen. The unfortunate result of this, is that the person receiving the poor service now thinnks that is indicative of the company and will have a tough time changing their view. Sorry to hear about your troubles, I know it will get resolved.

1911acp,
Sorry to hear of your problems. Unfortunately, without your name, I can't track any further. I do know that we have a new run of parts being finished in assembly, and they may be needing new parts to fix/replace you Dominator. Please call 800-344-0456 and let the folks in customer service help.

Thanks for your patience, and thanks for being a custmer!

After almost a month I called. they told me they did not have my knife. so I went to the Post office, and found that they got it 2 days after i sent it. I called back ........... they found it and are going to send a new one.

I ask if they would fix mine, and return it to me...nope they are sending me a new one.

Is the new one going to have the same problems ??????????

Lucky I still have my CUDA CU2T (nice knife)

I have attempted ordering from the Camillus website closeout store twice now. Here are my experiences.

#1, I ordered the factory 2nd brute. After waiting two weeks I emailed CS and asked the status of my order. M. Drake replied very quickly (hours) and informed me the knives were there and the sheath's were coming in a couple weeks and offered to assist in any way. I decided to cancel the order because I was going to be gone during the expected delivery time.

Service was good, BUT, I had to initiate contact to find out why it was taking so long.

#2, I couldn't resist the factory 2nd bk7 and bk9 deal. Placed order, got a phone call in a day or two that the bk7 was in but the bk9 wouldn't be availible till after the holidays. I asked if they were shipped seperately if I would be responsible for both shipping charges? They reluctantly agreed to only charge shipping once.

I checked my bank account today, two charges for both knives +shipping and one charge for the bk7 +shipping. I have an email in to billing, but they are gone till after new years I think. So, I think I will have this extra charge sitting on my card till they come back and we can sort this out.

In summary, M. Drake was very nice and promptly replied to my email. The second person I talked with (name?) seemed annoyed that I asked to only be charged once for shipping. But she did call, and that is good service.

As for the extra CC charges, probably an honest mistake and I am sure they will clear that up, it just happens that it hit the bank today (friday) and they were already gone for christmas by the time I saw it.

I won't bother signing up for the collectors club, but I might give them a third try. Who can resist those factory 2nd deals?

Camillus sent me a new Dominator. open and closed it a few times to open Christmas presents. The blades is loose side to side from that?

What can I do, I don't want to send It back again. If it will cost me $14 and take a month.

Does some one have a fix? I think is needs harder washers .
