domino advise

I'm contemplating one. Love the broad leaf-blade (who doesn't), and I like how they put a steel insert on the locking bar. Wish they came with plain G10 scales though.

Love mine. Smooth action, great steel. Liked it enough to customize a little.

For me it's a great combination of steel and ergonomics. The flipper action is smooth and fast. I love mine enough to customize the heck out of it.

Coiledwire...your knife is gorgeous. Considering one before a Southard. On the fence.

I EDC one and its great. The blade is a bit wide for my tastes but that is, at worst, aesthetic.

Is the lockface on the Southard carbidized?

Thanks for the complement on the domino. It is one of my favorites.

Regarding the Southard, I don't believe the lockface is carbidized. However, both Southards I've own doesn't show any increased wear on the lock/lock-face after many opening cycles.

I picked up a Domino for Christmas and it's one of my favorite Spydercos of all time.

The ergonomics feel great, the steel is premium, and it's bigger than the Sage 2... Which was a bit small for my tastes.

The thing you'll notice about the Domino is how smooth the action is. It just glides open. I absolutely love it.

My advice is go for it. It's an amazing blade. In fact, I'd say it's one of Spyderco's best designs.

Not cheap, but well worth it IMO. The Domino is my first Taichung Spyderco and it really is flawless.
I really like the close-to-the-cutting-edge grip that it naturally fits into my hand with, affording great cutting control.
I can really feel the difference in opening with the ball bearing pivot, I thought my Para 2's and Manix's were smooth and fast opening but this Domino is on another level as far as smooth fast opening is concerned.
And it has no blade play. Absolutely none.
The XHP blade gets seriously sharp in the Wicked Edge and really holds its edge, especially since I maintain it with the Sharpmaker fine rods.
My 2 groats, buy one and be happy :)

Anyone have a spyderco domino? Any advice. Are the worth the money. Thanks

I think they are worth the money. It is in my top 5 favorite Spydercos. Love the flipper action. Feels good in the hand. I have not been disappointed with any of my Taichung knives.

The Domino is a beautiful knife. I love the look , the blade steel , the CF and the Ti frame lock. But I hate that it is a flipper.

The flipper aspect of it is the only thing keeping me from buying one. Too bad.

Grind the flipper off? It still has a spyderhole.

How does that detract from the knife, in what way?
