I just got my Domino in today. Holy crap................. I love it so far. Eric Glesser has created a gem.

Thought I was gonna pass, sooo glad I picked it up. I was gonna pass because sadly, I simply cannot have every release and I was planning on getting the models I really want this year. That, and I wanted to give wide leaf shaped blades a break. I lucked out and got one on the exchange for $160 brand new, an unbelievable price that I couldn't pass up.

Just like my Techno, and Southard the F&F is amazing. It just oozes quality, good early and robust lock up, perfect centering. It appears to be "strong and sturdy" relating to build quality. Flipper action is fantastic... fires like a rocket, and deployment with the thumbhole is good. I can even middle finger flick it. This is a very good knife folks, one of Spyderco's best (there's quite a few of those :D). I like the CF pattern, it adds flair without being flashy just unique. It's like Spyderco built a cross between a Sage2 and a Manix2 using CRK's equipment haha!

Very good impressions for day one. Looking forward to using and carrying it. Guys, get one in hand and try it out.

As you can tell photography is not my strong point.

I share your sentiments my friend. Today was also my first day with the domino in my pocket and I am extremely impressed. Its really good, really really good. If you prefer the more traditional spydie look and feel, but are intrigued by flipper mechanisms, ti frame locks, and wicked fast ball bearing pivots, then this one is for you. The southard is one of my favorite knives, and as spyderco's first flipper, it was a smash hit, but for me it always lacked some sort of spyderco soul. Sure it has a hole and a little bug on the blade, but it didnt necessarily look or feel like a spyderco. The domino is every bit as well built as the southard, with a better flipping action and all of classic spydie features (ffg, leaf blade, finger choil). I have a feeling this one will be getting the vast majority of pocket time for quite a while.

Glad to hear you like it to bud.

A few more observations...The FFG blade geometry tapers down quite thin at the edge. It should make for a very good slicer. The tip is very sharp, I aim to keep it that way. It looks like the handle could have allowed for a little more blade but whatever. It came really sharp, tried it on phonebook paper and it was singing.

I also notice that it is very light. Quite an edc option really, it has so many things going for it. Excellent sub 3 inch option...

How about...A Domino XL? With a 3.75+ in. blade :D

Excellent sub 3 inch option...

While the cutting edge of the Domino is sub 3 inches (2.89"), the blade length is still over 3 inches (3.13") and unfortunately nearly all local laws state that blade length is not the length of the cutting edge but the length of the blade from the tip to the front bolster face.

So, us folks in L.A. still need a 3" flipper like a mini Southard. :)

My opinion as well. Awesome knife but just doesn't feel like a Spyderco. The Domino does.

I mentioned sub 3 inches with no regard to length limit laws... Just saying that the blade is in the class of 3 inch blades.

California has no laws regarding blade length really (other than in schools I think). In SF, there is an obscure local law that it is illegal to loiter with a blade over 3 inches. Who decides you are "loitering"? Worse yet, not all cops are aware that there is actually no law stopping you from carrying any bladelength so long as you are going about your business....

Regardless, I carry whatever I please as I do not "loiter" and have never been stopped by police for a blade check and if I did, there are no laws to stop me from going over 3 inches bladelength.

Sooo... How about a Domino XL :D 3.75+ inches :D Anyone???

Generally, California allows for concealed carry of the folding knives and there is no limit to the blade length. Schools 2.5".

However, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Oakland have local ordinances limiting folder blade length to 3 inches.
