Hi, I have the fallkniven a1 ing vg7 and a mora robust and I don’t know what to get next to fill in my gaps.
I think I need a heavy chopper and a small premium bushcraft knife. What do you guys think?

CPK Basic Field Knife

Write up your exact specs and check with the many fine makers who frequent the forum.

Architect knives would be a good option. AK8 is available in Magnacut now. AK 5.5 is my favorite and is available in 3V. Quality, price, warranty, and buying experience are all great. Don't forget to use the 10% code.

Also, like Busse, CPK, and TRC.

Get use to working with what you have and identify if you even have a gap to fill. Too often we concentrate on finding tools to do the job when a pocket knife, small fixed blade, ax and a saw will do everything we need.

From your list, I'd go with the LT Wright Genesis. If you want to do mostly bushcraft (i.e., process wood), get the Scandi. If you want a more general purpose version, get the flat grind (I have the flat grind). The Genesis is a modernized Kephart design and does a lot of different things pretty well.

A number of Bark River knives would excel as well. My favorite is their Kephart, but it's made from 3/32" thick stock, so maybe not the best choice for a survival-type, hard use knife.

You should also consider that most of us don’t live or play in isolation. If you camp with your wife or buddy and they usually carry a small knife or machete to handle the food prep or trail clearing, there is no reason for you to carry an additional one. Think about where you are going, what you are doing, who will be joining you and what they will be bringing, and then determine if anything else might be useful.

So you've got an 11 inch knife and an 8 inch knife.
I personally would look to something smaller were I looking to fill a void that being said your mora is a great knife for carving and smaller tasks. Your Fallkniven I would think is plenty big for any chopping you'll need anything more would be filled with an axe or saw.
I played the big knife game from custom Bowie's to production choppers and soon realized not only did I not need all that but they're not very friendly on your hip in the woods. I carry knives in the 8-9 inch range these days with a 3-4 inch blade and a SAK farmer always in my pocket. The saw takes care of anything bigger I feel I need to cut.
As stated above you'll end up going down a very expensive rabbit hole just to find you already had what you needed.
I've gone down said rabbit hole and finally found my way out of it thank God.

If you want a large chopper, I'd recommend something around an 8-10 inch blade. The Bk9, Esee junglass, and Terava Skrama are all good affordable options. Tops also makes some solid knives in that size range. The Anaconda was designed by the legendary Ron Hood, Trace Rinaldi designed the Armageddon, and EJ Snyder of Naked and Afraid/Dual Survival fame designed the SXB. If you want to go premium, Fallkniven makes their modern bowie, Busse and Carothers make some of the best "production" knives on the market, and there are a bunch of talented makers on here.

First of all, let’s strike the word “need” and substitute “want”. Need is a very simple hurdle to satisfy. Most people can get through life, even outdoors enthusiasts, tradesmen or farmers, with very few and basic knives. Even a humble knife from a local big box store will see someone through a rich lifetime of use.

If you love knives, it is because you enjoy their special appeal. Whether you are driven by artistic aesthetics, historical or cultural relevance, performance/functional advantage or shear fantasy; go with that. It makes it easier to identify ideal suggestions for you. I am sure many of us still have our favorite Rambo knife, Bowie fighter, utility gadget or Zombie weapon, simply because it strokes our inner Walter Mitty. There is nothing wrong with that.

If you are looking for a large knife, I would start with Randall Made and Busse knives. Go through their extensive catalogs and pick out those that you like. Then look around for similar knives made by other makers and production companies and pick whichever one most appeals to you. There are plenty of them out there.
