Well I am really happy to say Big Blue is back home. :D One of my all time favorite Don Hanson Bowie's with amazing dark blue (almost black) mammoth ivory. It took a journey via Paul Long for his usual mastery of leather and Chuck Ward captured the whole package. I believe these are also the first photo's of the knife showing the butt cap and skull crusher that Don had added a few years back. I feel very fortunate that a good, good friend of mine allowed me to bring this one back into my home. You know who you are and I thank you for that.

I remember that one well - it's a gorgeous piece with some exceptional ivory. Love the butt cap as well - even though that's not usually Don's thing. Another great (re)addition to the outstanding Klein cllection.

This is my first time to see thi piece, and I'm glad for it. Congrats Jon and thanks for the great pictures.

Jon and Don, I really, really like that high layer count Random, and the chatoyance is visible even in two dimensions.
There's a HUGE difference between regular ol' Random, and Random that has been intentionally worked and manipulated to make it 3D.
That's the kind of Damascus that really flips my skirt.
Maybe I shouldn't have said that.

I've always loved this knife. And the new butt cap aint bad either.. This is one of those knives I wish I could hold/check out in person.

Glad you have this beauty.

That is very cool I really like what you did with the ivory Don. Thanks for showing it Jon Good to see it found its way back home.

Beautiful Bowie.
Love Don's little scary dudes mosaic damascus.

That is an outstanding photo by Chuck Ward.

Have always loved that bowie, Jon! Really nice to see that back in your collection. I saved several images of that one when I was first getting into customs, thinking I would love to own one like that some day. (Doug, I got those images from Ari's site).

Just a superb bowie, and I love Paul's leather for it!
